AT LAST!

we went to prom on saturday...

like usual, our amazing mom & sisters helped us;

our team of experts//personal cinna's totally did us up!!

(making dresses//alterations, hair, make-up, pics, flowers, etc)

but this wasn't your ordinary//typical high school dance..

this pimpin' friend of ours asked us both!

we've always joked about it, & we used to loathe the idea,

but once it happened we could not have been more thrilled.

throughout the week we would just be sitting in class//driving to work

and then bust up laughing. "i can't believe this is happening!!"
funnest. dance. ever.

thanks for putting the cherry on top of our senior year, ty! we love you!

SATURDAY WAS A SPECIAL DAY..

the day began bright & early when we went to the school for a yummy breakfast.

the girls basketball team was playing in the state championship. they won!

then we raced home at 4 o' clock, & had to be ready by 4:30
to meet our group for preference.

talk about sour attitudes & stress! (just ask our mom & sisters)

none-the-less, we made it. and the dance was one of the funnest dances ever!

p.s. we're super photogenic.
& all the faces below describe the emotions of the day.

we rented the people water bus (big screen & bass included)
so we could all ride together & it was a party!

a bunch of senior girls decided it would be fun to go in one big group,
so that's what we did! & it really was a buh-last.

preference 2012 was definitely one for the books.

sadies 2011 was... memorable. besides the fact that we ran into everyone's relatives everywhere we went & the dance was cut short due to lame {keyword LAME} dj's, we had so much fun with our friends!

prom.

it was nice having all day saturday to get ready. our mom & sisters are the absolute best! they came over & were helping us with stuff all. day. long. we shared lotsa laughs, that's for sure.  love them sooo much :) then the boys came & picked us up!

next up: joel. he's prolly the funniest kid you'll ever meet.

& then cam got PROM KING.

{yeah, i was stressed about not being able to attend the roal wedding when really, i went on a date with royalty anyway! who needs prince william when you've got KING cam?! :) }

we had the funnest time with these boys.

OH, & p.s. - for all of you who thought i was wearing that nasty purple dress - all i have to say is WHAT? HOW? REALLY? like WHY would you think i'd wear such a thing?! fine, i admit. the color was really flashy & the puffy shoulders were oh so flattering [note the sarcasm] - BUT REALLY?!

overload.

i woke up today in a little debbie downer mood.

{1} snow. like really? you just ruined every hope i had of having good prom pictures. i need sunshine & green.. you cancel both of those out. not to mention i'm going to be freezing my bum off all day.

{2} i basically had the worst dream ever. & that always puts me in bad moods.

{3} my alarm this morning was a phone call from dad telling me to clean the church. YAY, my absolute fav. it atually wasn't that bad & we went to magleby's after, so.. it was all cash in the end. (2 claps for their all you can eat pancakes & buttermilk syrup. i think i'll be fine until dinner).

{4} i'm nervous?

but i'm also very excited for tonight. we spent last night at lowes xtreme air sports for our day date. there's nothing better than jumping into a huge pit of foam & not getting injured. we all decided that we could probably sleep in the pits because they were so soft. :) then we went to the malt shoppe, ate shakes, & talked for 2 hours. love this group!

the dress hunt comes to an end.

because i'm a picky person & i hate the standard prom dresses out there, my mother is making mine. i saw a picture of one that i absolutely could not get out of my mind & that's what we're basing it off of. also, since i'm a selfish person who doesn't want my secret out, i'm keeping the picture to myself. lo siento, readers. i am having troubles deciding which shoes to wear however...

my stylish aunt, courtney, is letting me borrow her shoes, once again. {yes, if you need a cute pair of heels, she's the gal you see.. she has lots.} i can't decide because both match my dress perfectly! they're both ta-da & i am just excited for prom. :)

so help me out.. which one should i wear?!

sadies part 1.

 

i asked cameron mcginn.

according to girl code, the best friends boy is off limits, and i know that. considering they weren't together when i asked, and i have been friends with cam since kindergarten, why not? i knew i wasn't going to pull any moves and i got permission from the best friend, so i asked him.

i asked: hey dew'd it'd be money if we went to sadies

  

[mt. dew + 100 grands]

 

he answered: honey-comb your hair, we're going to sadies

[& don't forget the bee mascot handing me the answer] 

taryn asked trevor matheson. 

she gave him pop & popcorn and said:

"pop pop" "fizz fizz" if you went to sadies with me 

that'd be the shiz!

she had her name spelled out in 3 different balloons and he had to pop them to find out who it was.

his answer came with a great story to tell.

(grab your popcorn, it's a long one)

trevor was texting me, telling me to keep taryn away from the door, so i did. later, my mom opened the door and told tar that she had something waiting for her. so, both of us went outside looking for his answer. "taryn! follow the string" so we followed the string. it went all the way around our neighbors big tree but when we got to the end of the string, there was nothing there. taryn took 30 minutes looking for something that could have fallen off or blown away in the wind and she couldn't find anything! 

so i texted trevor and told him how confused we were. apparently our mom opened the door while he was still putting everything together and so he had to run off before completion. there was supposed to be a note at the end of the string that said "look under your door mat" trevor said. so we looked under the doormat and there was this little piece of paper folded into 27ths that said "it'd be one heck of a journey to go to sadies with you!"

 

sadies is this weekend and we're really excited to party it up with our friends!

this group of 30 will be very interesting.

p.s.& how could i forget to thank tori for all the help? thanks tor!

if your car gets vandalized or something is left on your doorstep it'll most likely be us. we like to help people ask their dates to sadies. when will WE ask to sadies?? maybe next year.
