spirit bowl was yesterday.
probably the biggest event we do..
and yes, it was the best spirit bowl ever.
the theme was perfect & everything was stellar.
after hours & hours of prep, it turned out sooo awesome!

the day was so rockin, we even made the front page of the local newspaper!

APRIL 1ST

a year ago i made a last minute decision to try out for student council.. something i thought i would never do. after a lot of time and hard work, i made it! a year ago today is the day i found out. having my name be called out & on the roll out poster was honestly one of the most rewarding feelings ever, & i will never forget that.

as if you don't know already (& from the pictures) i'm a very emotional person. well, a couple days ago was when the student council for 2012-2013 was announced. performing the skits & announcing the new people was probably one of thee worst feelings ever. IT SUCKED actually! it was rough seeing people's faces who didn't make it.. especially the one's i thought would. (i may or may not have cried for them....) 

but, i am excited! doing student council was one of the best decisions i have ever made! (even though the mockery from my friends will never end) & i know next years council will be killer because of the people who made it & there are some killer people who should be on cabinet. (fingers & toes crossed)

on april 1st, not only did taryn find out that she made student council...

our baby rowan was born!!

this little girl just makes us happier...

little rowan girl,

we can't believe that you are one already! time just flew by. we still remember being so sad that your mom was in the hospital, about to have you & we couldn't come up because of taryn's student council stuff. we tried to get out of it, but that just didn't happen. we wanted to hold your little, perfect body soo badly! we remember getting a picture of your cute little face & being so excited that you were here.. a niece! don't get us wrong, your boy cousins are the best, too.. but you're a girl. we can play dress up when you're older & have slumber parties & talk about boys, & do nails & all that jazz. we raced up to logan the next morning & spent the whole day with you. you are the most entertaining baby. we could sit & stare at you all day & never get bored, seriously. the silly faces you make, your big, brown eyes, the way you smell, your laugh.. everything about you just makes us happy! we don't know if we can ever love a little girl as much as we love you. your mom said once that she doesn't think anyone can make you laugh harder than us... the feeling is mutual, little :) the song Never Grow Up - Taylor Swift reminds us of you. you're our widda! we want you to stay the little, perfect girl that you are now. but, we also can't wait to see what a beautiful girl you become, rowan. we love you forever!

NO ONE WAS HURT IN THE MAKING OF THIS ADVENTURE

wednesday's happenings consisted of soldier hollow with student council.

it started with a bang....

& ended with a bust.

the result of a baby//lopsided tube & a massive group of people who made a massive train down the hill. no worries, i only body-slid down the hill 83% of the way. (no one ELSE was hurt in the making of this adventure) if you think i own any snow clothes, you're wrong.

having a tram take you back to the top of the hill made it bearable.

we're still alive & kickin it after temporary motherhood

babysitting for a week was solid.

without fail, a long, hot bath would cure the stress of school, children, and homework.
some fresh peaches made up for the lack of nutrition & overload of suger & crap.
college day didn't really help the decision process, but killed the imaginary wallet.

let's just say volenteering to chase after balls little children have thrown accross the park wasn't the funnest booth to man. they said i'd get to run the mph gun & meet dale murphy.

oh well, it was fun.

the best april fool's day ever.

the long day started at 4:57 a.m. when i woke up.

{1} the assembly

blue team theme was dr. seuss!

{2} at 3:34 my baby girl was born!

rowan paige staples.

i couldn't go up to logan with the rest of my fam & that was sooo sad for me because i'd been looking forward to this day for.e.ver! i wanted to meet & hold my baby girl so badly. tay stayed home to support me.

{3} our last team meeting & get together. i never expected to get so close to a group of people. they all became my best friends & there was never a dull moment.

{4} stomp & the names REVEALED!

there weren't a lot of people at the stomp, so that was a bit of a drag.

i tried to dance my heart out, & i actually had a lot of fun!

i wanted to have fun so i forgot about everything & just danced.

since i'm at the hospital with my baby ro right now,

i don't have access to video/pictures. they'll be posted soon!

along with all my campaining things. :)

the big moment came.

when we walked into the gym my team said a prayer.

i started crying, no big deal.

then we all sat down & i was trippin. my thoughts were churning & my mind was going wild.

they went through all the other canidates & i cheered for them because i was really excited for them all!

{well, except for one. but i'll keep that to myself.}

then the skit came for SB Publicity. i felt my face flush & tears rushed to my eyes.

TARYN.

i walked down from the bleachers & got lacey's jacket.

she gave me the biggest hug & told me how much i deserved it.

then i found blue team members & we were all hugging each other.

tears were FLOODING. like really, i was bawling.

all my emotions from the week had been bottled up inside me & i guess they all decided to come out at once.

the skit for the president came. it was funny, but i was mad because i just wanted it to be over. first came saxton {joke} then cole {joke} then jimmer {joke} then NATE. {for real!}

still, i bawled. all my friends who came to support were hugging me & telling me how proud of me they were.

then tay gave my the biggest hug on earth & started crying with me. love her! my dad & brooks came to support as well, what champs. i was still crying until the lights turned off & it was time to go home.

i can't wait to be a part of student council next year.

i'm excited for them to announce cabinet members,

i need 2 team members to make it. they're some of my favs.

i miss my blue team.
